Argus

Argus uses a top-down, vertically scrolling view. The fighter moves freely within the visible playfield while the stage advances automatically. Airborne enemies must be shot, while ground installations and other hazards require attention as they enter the screen. Stages are fixed courses containing enemy waves, terrain, power-up opportunities, and larger end-of-stage threats. The objective is to survive the sequence and clear each section. Main fire handles regular targets, while a secondary weapon is useful against tougher or crowded situations; collected power-ups improve the fighter’s offensive ability. Mistakes cost lives, making pattern recognition central to progression.

Treat the lower part of the screen as a safety zone rather than hugging the bottom edge. Small movements leave more time to read incoming formations and reduce accidental collisions. Keep the fighter aligned with likely gaps instead of following every target. Use the main shot continuously, but do not sacrifice position to collect a power-up. Ground threats and fast aerial enemies can overlap, so clear the danger closest to the fighter first. On repeat attempts, memorize enemy-entry points and reserve the secondary attack for crowded screens or especially dangerous targets.
