Top Gun

The game uses mission-based side-scrolling stages. Before each sortie, the player selects missiles with different ranges, payloads, and shot counts, then flies through the mission while moving the jet up and down to line up attacks. Enemy missiles can be intercepted in midair by firing your own missile, creating a blast that cancels the threat. Later missions introduce tougher fighters, repeated attack waves, and a final assault on a carrier and shuttle formation. If the aircraft is destroyed, the game restarts from the nearest mission segment with refueling handled between stages.

Maverick’s major rival from the original film, often associated with elite fighter pilot competition.

Choose missiles based on the mission: multi-shot or long-range options are useful for swarms, while stronger missiles help against sturdier targets. Intercept incoming enemy missiles early instead of waiting until they are close. For head-on charging fighters, dodging is usually safer and more efficient than spending several missiles. Keep your jet moving vertically to line up shots and avoid wasting ammunition on off-angle targets.
