Gameplay

The game uses a 2D side-scrolling perspective. Players choose either John Morris or Eric Lecarde at the start. John fights with the Vampire Killer whip and offers reliable reach, while Eric uses a spear with strong upward attacks and greater mobility. Stages feature traps, collapsing platforms, enemy patterns, and boss encounters across several European locations. Sub-weapons consume hearts, weapon upgrades increase damage, and dying can reduce your power level, making careful movement and stage knowledge essential.

Characters

John Morris

One of the two protagonists, a wielder of the Vampire Killer whip and a descendant of the Belmont line.

Eric Lecarde

The second playable hero, armed with a sacred spear and known for superior agility.

Dracula

The series’ central villain, whose evil power threatens Europe once more.

Elizabeth Bartley

A vampire noblewoman whose actions help set Dracula’s resurrection in motion.

Strategy

John is often the easier first choice because his whip has steady range and simple timing. Eric is excellent once you know the stages, especially in areas with vertical threats. Try to preserve weapon upgrades before boss fights, and avoid unnecessary damage because death reduces momentum. In trap-heavy stages, stop and watch moving parts before jumping. Break suspicious objects and walls when possible, as hidden pickups can provide hearts or healing.

Tips

Tips and tricks

  • John is more beginner-friendly; Eric rewards practice and route knowledge.
  • Save hearts for dangerous sections and boss fights instead of spending them on weak enemies.
  • Learn boss recovery windows and punish after dodging rather than attacking constantly.
