Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge

The game uses a side-scrolling perspective with the Vampire Killer whip as the main weapon. After the opening, players may choose among four themed castles in any order. Stages feature pits, moving platforms, enemies, and environmental hazards. Candles drop hearts and power-ups, and the whip can gain magical projectile forms such as fireballs and axe-like shots. Learn each castle's traps and enemy placement before committing to aggressive play. Whip upgrades are extremely valuable, so avoiding damage often matters more than rushing forward. On narrow platforms, prioritize safe positioning and remove flying enemies early. Many bosses use repeatable patterns; watch one full cycle first, then attack during consistent openings instead of forcing hits.

• Pick a first castle with terrain you find easiest to build momentum early.
• Protect your whip power level whenever possible, since losing upgrades makes later sections much harder.
• Use platform edges and stair approaches to line up safer whip attacks against enemies at different heights.
