The game uses a 2D side-view fighting format where players battle through timed rounds using punches, kicks, throws, defense, and special moves. Each fighter has unique normals, jump arcs, and combo rhythms. Matches are best of several rounds, and health slowly recovers if a fighter avoids damage for a short time, making momentum and pressure especially important. Besides the main arcade-style progression, players can practice and learn spacing, anti-air timing, and command inputs to improve consistency.

Ryu

Balanced martial artist with Hadoken, Shoryuken, and Tatsumaki Senpukyaku.

Ken

Ryu's rival and counterpart, slightly more aggressive in style.

Chun-Li

Fast-footed fighter known for long-range kicks and strong mobility.

Guile

Military specialist who controls space with Sonic Boom and Flash Kick.

Dhalsim

Long-range zoning character with stretching limbs and fire-based attacks.

Zangief

Close-range grappler built around powerful throws and body pressure.

E. Honda

Sumo wrestler with heavy pressure tools and strong command movement.

Blanka

Wild, unpredictable fighter who uses electricity and rushdown attacks.

Balrog

Boxer with fast punches, rush pressure, and strong corner offense.

Vega

Agile claw fighter with fast movement and aerial pressure.

Dee Jay

New fighter who uses rhythm-based kicks and aggressive counters.

Fei Long

New fighter with fast strikes and strong close-range offense.

Akuma

Hidden boss-style character with extremely dangerous offense.

Learn each character's poke range and anti-air timing before focusing on advanced combos. Do not jump recklessly; use light attacks and spacing to test your opponent first. Against grapplers, stay at mid-range and avoid corner traps. Against zoning characters, approach carefully and convert openings into sustained pressure. Because health regeneration rewards momentum, keep attacking once you gain an advantage.
