Metal Slug 7

This side-scrolling shooter has players run, jump, crouch, and fire while advancing through stages filled with soldiers, turrets, traps, and boss encounters. Weapons, grenades, and temporary power-ups are scattered throughout each mission, and vehicles such as tanks can be boarded for extra firepower. The DS version features branching mission routes and multiple stage paths, encouraging replay. Progress is stage-based, with difficulty increasing sharply in later missions and boss patterns becoming more complex.

Save powerful weapons for armored targets and bosses, and avoid overcommitting when screen pressure becomes dense. Prioritize turrets, aircraft, and other high-threat enemies before focusing on common infantry. Rescue prisoners whenever possible for helpful item drops and scoring bonuses. In boss fights, learn the attack cadence and use short movement bursts instead of holding a fixed position. Ralf and Clark's close-range strengths are useful for quickly clearing elite enemies in specific situations.

Tips and tricks

• Keep grenades for clustered enemies and armored threats.
• Enter vehicles only after nearby enemies are thinned out.
• After a boss enters a vulnerable state, sustained damage is usually safer than chasing it too aggressively.
