Players move a base left and right along the bottom of the screen and fire upward to eliminate descending alien formations. The collection includes arcade-style ports and Virtual Boy-enhanced 3D versions, along with modes such as score attack and time attack. Progress is based on clearing waves and maximizing points, while enemy formations become more dangerous as they move lower and change rhythm with each surviving group.
