Knuckles' Chaotix

The game uses a 2D side-scrolling perspective. Players choose a character and are paired with a partner connected by an elastic tether. Running, jumping, wall-climbing, and swinging all interact with the tether, allowing speed boosts, slingshot launches, and momentum-based traversal. Stages are split into sections filled with springs, rings, traps, and alternate routes. Rings improve survivability, while bosses cap off most stages. Progress is stage-based, with exploration rewarding extra paths and secrets.

Try to keep the tether at a manageable length; too much tension can cause awkward movement, while too little reduces the benefits of momentum. Use the tether to sling your partner upward in vertical sections and to build speed on straightaways. Collect rings whenever possible for a larger safety buffer, and conserve lives before boss fights. Take time to learn each stage's layout, since some routes are easier when you plan your approach before moving in.
