Gameplay

Battles take place on square tactical maps viewed from an angled overhead perspective. Units move across terrain, attack nearby enemies, use weapons or abilities, and end their turns while the opposing force acts. Objectives vary by scenario and can include defeating enemy forces or protecting important units. The campaign is divided into story battles connected by dialogue and decision events. Characters gain experience, improve their combat effectiveness, and use equipment suited to their battlefield roles. FEDA also tracks moral or ideological alignment, allowing story development and character outcomes to reflect the player's choices.

Strategy

Study the map before moving the lead units, because isolated characters can be surrounded before support arrives. Keep durable front-line fighters between fragile ranged or support units and enemy attackers. Check available equipment and character development between battles, then match movement and attack ranges to the terrain. Decisions connected to the game's justice and alignment themes can affect the campaign, so record important choices if you want to compare routes.
