The 4th Super Robot Wars

Players command a squad of robots and pilots on tile-based maps, moving units, attacking enemies, and supporting allies in turn-based combat. Battle results depend on hit rate, damage, EN, ammo, and pilot abilities. Between missions, money and experience are used to improve weapons, armor, mobility, and other stats. The game also introduces stronger combo-oriented tactics, making positioning and coordinated attacks more important.

A recurring commander-type character who organizes the allied force.

One of the best-known pilots in the series, usually fielded as a fast frontline unit.

Ryoma Nagare

A hot-blooded pilot who excels at close-range offense and breaking enemy lines.

Focus upgrades on a few core units instead of spreading resources too thin. Save expensive spirit commands for boss fights and stages with strict clear conditions. Use terrain bonuses and long-range attacks to weaken key targets before finishing them with high-experience pilots. In longer maps, manage EN and ammo carefully so your strongest units stay effective until the end.
