Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War

The game uses a top-down grid-based strategy format. Players command infantry, cavalry, mages, archers, and other unit classes across castles, plains, forests, and fortresses in turn-based battles. Moving, attacking, rescuing, and supplying units are all affected by weapon rank, terrain, and unit class. Capturing castles advances the story and restores your army's foothold on the map.

Prioritize castle capture and avoid splitting your army too thin on the huge maps. Use terrain bonuses and support positioning to survive stronger enemy formations. Before the chapter transition, plan pairings, inheritance, and which items should be passed down to the next generation.

Tips and tricks

• Save powerful weapons for important units instead of spending them on minor enemies.
• After capturing a castle, regroup and resupply before advancing further.
• Bait enemies onto favorable terrain, then strike with concentrated attacks.
