Thunder Force II

The game is a single-player action shooter where you pilot a fighter through alternating stage types. Top-down stages focus on free movement, shooting enemies from multiple directions, and destroying ground defenses. Side-scrolling stages shift the emphasis to careful positioning, dodging enemy fire, and navigating obstacles. Power-ups upgrade your weapons and sub-weapons, and each cleared stage leads to the next with increasing enemy density and attack patterns.

Learn the enemy spawn patterns in the top-down stages so you are not surrounded. In side-scrolling stages, stay slightly lower on the screen to give yourself room to react. When you pick up a strong weapon, focus on survival rather than risky item chasing. Against larger bosses, clear surrounding turrets first and concentrate on weak points to reduce crossfire.
