The Duel: Test Drive II

The race is viewed from inside the selected car, with the road, traffic, roadside hazards, and rival vehicle visible ahead. The objective is to complete each route before the time limit and beat the opposing driver. A route is divided into road sections with changing scenery, traffic patterns, sharp bends, and hazards that punish excessive speed. Players steer with the Control Pad, accelerate, brake, and manage their speed through corners. The Ferrari F40 and Porsche 959 provide the central choice, while the rival car remains part of the head-to-head challenge. Progress comes from surviving successive sections and reaching the finish rather than building a persistent character or vehicle career.

Brake before bends instead of entering them at maximum speed; the road layout gives little room to recover from a late correction. - Watch traffic and roadside obstacles more closely than the rival car, because collisions cost valuable time. - Use the straighter sections to regain speed, then reduce speed early for curves and narrow passages. - Learn the timing of each route section so that the time limit is spent on forward progress rather than repeated crashes.

The Ferrari F40 and Porsche 959 handle differently, so try both before settling on one car.

Avoid treating every straight as a reason to stay at maximum speed; upcoming bends and traffic determine the safest pace.
