It keeps the fast arcade tempo and two-player co-op action while expanding the roster of aircraft, enemy patterns, and screen-filling boss battles. Its mix of colorful presentation, varied planes, and demanding arcade challenge helped it earn a lasting reputation among shoot-'em-up fans.

Players choose from multiple aircraft and battle through vertically scrolling stages viewed from above. Core controls center on movement, rapid-fire shooting, and a limited bomb attack used to clear bullets or survive dangerous moments. Stages mix airborne enemies, ground targets, power-up items, and set-piece boss encounters. Different planes have distinct shot spreads and bomb behavior, so route choice and character selection matter. In co-op, both players can combine firepower, but the screen becomes far more chaotic, making positioning and bomb management especially important.

Rachel

A recurring selectable pilot associated with the American side of the cast.

Boko

A comic-style selectable character that reflects the series' playful personality.

Mizuki

A selectable pilot often presented as part of the Japanese faction.

Stay centered when possible so you can react to enemy waves from either side. Save bombs for dense bullet patterns or emergency escapes rather than using them early. Learn each boss's opening and final phases, since many attacks have safe lanes once you know where to stand. In co-op, avoid overlapping movement too closely and coordinate bomb use so both players do not panic at the same time.
