The game uses a third-person chase camera and focuses on building boost and timing it for maximum speed. Tracks feature ramps, split paths, hidden shortcuts, rough water, and obstacles that can slow or spin the boat. Races are won by mastering steering, landing cleanly after jumps, and choosing the best line through each course. Progress is based on event results, with additional tracks and boats becoming available as you advance.

Learn each track’s shortcuts and jump angles, since route choice often matters more than raw speed. Save boost for long straights, exits from tight turns, or the final stretch instead of spending it immediately. Enter corners early and avoid clipping walls, because small collisions can cost valuable momentum. On jump-heavy sections, keep the boat straight on takeoff and landing to reduce the chance of losing control.
