The game uses a side-view 2D fighting format. Players advance through a sequence of CPU battles, choosing characters built around swords, polearms, and other melee weapons. Core play revolves around normal attacks, heavy strikes, special moves, and managing distance to control the pace of each round. The Rage Meter fills as the fight progresses and can enhance specific techniques or make finishing attacks more threatening. Matches are played in rounds, with victory going to the fighter who empties the opponent's life first.
