Super Robot Wars R

Battles take place on a top-down grid, with turns alternating between the player and enemy forces. You move units, choose attacks, activate spirit commands, and position mecha to exploit range, terrain, and weapon traits. Progress is chapter-based, and between missions you can upgrade machines, improve weapons, and manage pilots and unit assignments.

Focus upgrade resources on a small group of key units rather than spreading them too thin. Save spirit commands for difficult turns, especially accuracy, evasion, and damage boosts against bosses. Use terrain bonuses and weapon ranges to your advantage, keeping fragile long-range units protected while durable melee units press forward.

Tips and tricks

• Invest early in a few core units to make later stages much smoother.
• Eliminate dangerous enemy accuracy units first to reduce incoming damage.
• Hold back strong spirit commands until boss encounters or critical enemy waves.
