Streets of Rage

Players advance through side-scrolling stages while fighting waves of enemies with punches, kicks, throws, and jump attacks. Axel, Blaze, and Adam each offer slightly different speed and power profiles. Weapons and items can be picked up from the environment and used for extra damage. Enemies often attack from both sides of the screen, so spacing, crowd control, and careful timing matter. Progress is stage-based, with lives and continues determining how far you can go.

Axel

A balanced former cop suited to beginners.

Blaze

A faster, more agile fighter with strong mobility.

Adam

A power-oriented character with strong attack reach and damage.

Mr. X

The crime syndicate boss and final enemy.

Use throws and knockback to prevent enemies from surrounding you. Keep moving to avoid getting pinned in narrow areas. Save weapons for tougher enemies or crowded fights, and do not overcommit to long attack strings when enemies are preparing counterattacks. Managing space is often safer than rushing forward.

Tips and tricks

• Move and attack at the same time to reduce the chance of being surrounded.
• Use weapons like pipes or knives on dangerous enemies first.
• When enemies cluster together, use control moves or throws to break them up.
