Sonic the Hedgehog 2

This is a side-view action platformer built around speed, momentum, and stage memorization. Players run, jump, roll, and use the Spin Dash to build instant speed. Levels are packed with rings, springs, slopes, and hazards, and each zone ends with a boss battle. Getting hit causes ring loss, and falling or running out of rings/lives can force a retry. Special stages appear after clearing zones, where players can earn Chaos Emeralds for alternate endings.

Learn the terrain before committing to full-speed runs, especially in sections with hidden pits or sudden enemy placements. Use slopes and downhill paths to keep momentum, and save jumps for moments when you can see the landing zone. Preserve rings whenever possible, because they act as your main buffer against damage. In special stages, prioritize stable control over risky ring chasing.

Tips and tricks

• Memorize slopes and spring placements; many fast sections are easier when you let the level carry your speed.
• Against bosses, watch the pattern first and attack only during safe openings.
• In special stages, control matters more than greed—avoid bouncing into walls while chasing items.
