This is a complete colorization hack of Pokémon Red, rebuilt for GBA with full-color graphics and a Generation III-style battle interface while keeping the original adventure intact. Players travel across Kanto, catching and training Pokémon, challenging Gym Leaders, and working toward the League. It is generally appreciated as a polished fan update that improves presentation and comfort without changing the classic core.

The game uses a top-down overworld and menu-driven turn-based battles. Players explore towns, routes, caves, and water areas, triggering wild encounters and trainer fights, then use moves, items, and type matchups to progress. Building a party of captured and trained Pokémon is the main progression loop, followed by badges, the Elite Four, and the Champion. The hack adds a cleaner color presentation and interface improvements inspired by later entries.

Red

The player character, a Pokémon trainer who journeys through Kanto to complete the Pokédex and defeat the League.

Professor Oak

A famous Pokémon researcher who introduces the world and provides the first partner Pokémon.

Blue

The rival who repeatedly challenges the player with a stronger team.

Giovanni

Leader of Team Rocket and one of the main antagonists encountered later in the story.

Train one or two core Pokémon early so your team keeps pace with trainer battles. Cover different type matchups to handle Gym Leaders and Elite Four members more safely. Keep healing items and status cures stocked, and weaken wild Pokémon before attempting capture to save Poké Balls. If a route or dungeon feels dangerous, return later after gaining a few levels and key moves.
