King of the Monsters

The game uses an overhead arena-style view in which players fight in enclosed city stages. Attacks include punches, kicks, jumps, grapples, and character-specific specials, with timing and spacing playing a major role. Buildings and other stage objects can be destroyed for points and tactical room, and some stages shift as the battle progresses. Victory advances the player through successive cities in tournament fashion, rewarding aggressive positioning and careful punishment of openings.

A lizard-like monster that relies on fast movement, close-range pressure, and rush attacks.

A sci-fi styled creature with balanced power and ranged or area-focused moves.

Gila

A heavy monster built around durability, pressure, and strong throws.

Learn each monster’s throw range and special-move startup so you can punish unsafe attacks. Use jump-ins to force reactions, then follow with close pressure. When fighting defensive opponents, vary your approach and avoid predictable lunges. Keep an eye on the edges of the arena to trap enemies and limit their escape options. Break buildings for points, but avoid overcommitting if the opponent is ready to counterattack.

Tips and tricks

• Study the enemy’s recovery frames; many openings matter more than raw damage.
• Do not chase recklessly near buildings, since you may lose your escape route.
• If your monster has a strong dash or throw, use it to push opponents toward the stage edge.
