Developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and published by SEGA, Shining Soul II is an action RPG for Game Boy Advance. Players choose from eight character classes and explore randomly generated dungeons, battling monsters and collecting loot along the way. Its fast-paced combat, cooperative play, and gear-driven progression made it one of the more memorable handheld entries in the Shining series.

The game uses an overhead dungeon-crawling perspective. Between town and dungeon areas, players accept quests, buy equipment, and prepare for boss battles. Real-time combat centers on basic attacks, skills, and movement-based dodging, while each class favors different strengths such as melee offense, ranged damage, or support magic. Progress comes from leveling up, allocating stats, unlocking abilities, and farming randomized drops from chests and enemies.

Karin

A selectable melee-oriented character built for direct combat and agile offense.

Raven

A selectable character focused on speed, technique, and rapid pressure in battle.

Pals

A selectable support-oriented character who provides magical utility and team assistance.

Focus early stat growth on your class's main attribute instead of spreading points too thinly. In random dungeons, clear enemies methodically and avoid rushing into open rooms where you can be surrounded. Keep healing and status-curing items ready, and use doorways or narrow spaces to control enemy numbers. In co-op, one character should hold aggro while another handles damage or support for smoother runs.
