Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2

You control Mario or Luigi through 2D side-scrolling stages, running, jumping, stomping enemies, breaking blocks, and collecting power-ups. The overworld connects stages through branching paths, and many levels contain both normal and secret exits that unlock new routes. Riding Yoshi adds extra mobility and offensive options, while the GBA version includes character switching and save support. Progress is driven by clearing stages, finding hidden exits, and opening new areas on the map.

Search each stage carefully for alternate exits; many shortcuts and optional worlds are locked behind them. Keep Yoshi whenever possible, since his tongue attack and mobility make difficult sections safer. Use Luigi on tricky vertical jumps or long gaps. If a stage has suspicious walls or isolated blocks, test them for hidden keys, switches, or secret paths.

Tips and tricks

• Finish the normal exit first, then return later to hunt for secrets.
• Yoshi is especially valuable in enemy-heavy stages, so try not to lose him early.
• Use the map structure to plan routes; some worlds become much easier once secret exits are found.
