StarTropics II: Zoda's Revenge

Mike explores towns and historical areas from an overhead perspective, entering caves, ruins, castles, and other dungeons. Dungeon rooms contain enemies, traps, switches, pits, hidden passages, and block-pushing puzzles; defeating enemies or solving a room usually opens the route forward. The A button uses Mike's currently selected weapon or item, while B makes him jump. Mike acquires weapons and tools during the journey, and story progress is divided among distinct time-period chapters. Conversations, item discoveries, and boss encounters advance the rescue mission rather than a conventional experience-point system.

Use each dungeon's room layout carefully: check for switches, pushable blocks, hidden routes, and hazards before spending health or ammunition. Jumping is essential for crossing gaps and avoiding attacks, so do not treat pits as ordinary obstacles. Explore towns and speak with inhabitants before leaving an era. New weapons and quest items often explain how to pass a later room, while boss fights become safer when you keep distance, observe attack patterns, and attack only during clear openings.
