The game uses a side-view 2D one-on-one fighting format. Players attack with punches, kicks, throws, and character-specific special moves while managing spacing, jumps, and counters. Some fighters can transform under certain conditions, temporarily changing their move properties and pressure options. In arcade play, you progress through a ladder of opponents before facing the final boss.

Stay disciplined against jump-ins and avoid overusing slow heavies at neutral. When facing transform-capable fighters, keep your spacing tight and punish the recovery around form changes whenever possible.
