The game uses top-down exploration and turn-based battles. Players travel through towns, routes, caves, and gyms, catching and training Pokémon to build a six-member team. The hack adds features such as the physical/special split, reusable TMs, and running shoes, which reduce grind and make team building more flexible. Progress is driven by gym battles, the Elite Four, and Pokédex completion.

Player character
A customizable trainer who embarks on the Johto adventure and battles other trainers along the way.

Strategy
Build a balanced team with good type coverage and invest early in a fast lead Pokémon to control the pace of battles. Reusable TMs make it worthwhile to refine movesets around a few strong core attackers. Against tougher opponents, use status effects, type advantages, and switching to wear them down; stocking healing items and status cures before major fights will make progression much easier.
