The game uses an isometric basketball view and focuses on 2-on-2 matchups. Players pass, shoot, steal, block, and sprint across the court, with the trademark high-flying dunks and alley-oops defining offense. Matches are extremely fast and physical, with loose collision rules that encourage aggressive play. Progress is usually match-based, with wins decided by score and time limits; some versions also include special and hidden teams.

Strategy
Use passing to create open looks instead of forcing contested shots in traffic. On defense, protect the lane and perimeter rather than constantly diving for steals. Once a player catches fire, feed him the ball and let him finish possessions. Fast breaks are especially strong, so secure rebounds and push the ball immediately.
