Mega Man 4

Players control Mega Man in side-scrolling stages filled with jumps, hazards, and enemy fire. Defeating Robot Masters grants their special weapons, and choosing the right weapon for the right boss can greatly reduce difficulty. The new charge shot adds a stronger primary attack that can be released at any time. Progress is stage-based, with password continuation supporting longer play sessions and repeated boss attempts.

Use boss weaknesses to plan an efficient stage order, starting with easier stages to build up useful weapons. The charge shot is great for steady damage, but keep moving to avoid being trapped by enemy patterns. Save powerful weapons for bosses or sections where normal shots are inefficient. Memorizing hazard layouts and enemy placements makes later stages much safer.

Password system

The game uses passwords to resume progress and continue from later stages.
