Märchen Veil

The game uses a top-down field view divided into separate screens or areas. The objective is to explore the kingdom, survive encounters with monsters, locate useful items and magic, and advance the prince’s quest to break his transformation. Combat occurs directly on the field. The player moves around enemies, attacks with the sword, and uses available magic when a situation calls for it. Progress depends on finding the correct route and building enough capability to pass stronger encounters; the Disk System version is a single-player adventure rather than a multiplayer game.

Map each screen before committing to a dangerous route, because enemies can make retreat difficult. Use direct sword attacks when an enemy is safely exposed and reserve magic for encounters that cannot be handled reliably at close range. Search side areas carefully for items and magical resources. When progress stops, revisit earlier screens and test unexplored paths rather than assuming that the next objective is located in the most obvious direction.
