Green Beret

The game uses a side-scrolling, stage-based structure. The player moves a lone commando to the right, attacking primarily with a knife while picking up heavier weapons such as rocket launchers when available. Movement includes jumping and crouching to avoid bullets, traps, and environmental hazards. Each stage ends after reaching the objective or boss area, and lives are lost on death before continuing from a checkpoint or stage start.

The player-controlled special forces soldier sent behind enemy lines to sabotage bases and break through defenses.

Learn enemy spawn points and projectile timing, since many hits come from sudden rushes or off-screen threats. Save stronger pickups for armored enemies or crowded sections, and use the knife only when you can safely close the distance. In narrow areas, clear ranged attackers first and avoid being trapped against hazards or dead ends.

• Use the knife at close range, but avoid overcommitting.
