Double Dragon II: The Revenge

This is a side-scrolling beat 'em up where players control Billy or Jimmy through multi-stage levels, defeating waves of enemies while navigating hazards and changing terrain. The move set includes punches, kicks, jumping attacks, throws, and the cyclone spin kick, with weapons such as bats and knives available in some areas. Progress is stage-based: clear the screen, advance forward, and eventually face each boss. The PCE version adds CD music and animated story scenes to emphasize presentation.

Keep moving and avoid being surrounded, especially in narrow areas. Use jump kicks to shut down weapon-wielding enemies first, then clean up melee foes. Prioritize strong pickups whenever possible, as weapons help in crowded sections. Against bosses, wait for attack openings, then strike and retreat instead of trading hits.

• Cyclone spin kick is best used to escape pressure, not as a reckless opener.
• After landing a jump kick, follow up immediately with basic attacks to maintain pressure.
• If weapon drops are limited, finish the fight space first and then grab the item safely.
