Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors

Matches are fought in a side-view 2D arena with standard attacks, throws, blocks, and special moves. Each character has a highly individual move set and can make use of mobility tools, air blocking, and combo routes to pressure opponents. Rounds are time-limited and won by depleting the opponent's life gauge; successful hits can be canceled into strings for longer damage. After clearing the arcade ladder, players face progressively tougher CPU opponents.

Learn a reliable bread-and-butter combo for your main character before trying advanced routes. Use air blocking and movement to avoid predictable jump-ins, and fight at ranges where your normals and specials are safest. Against the CPU, stable pressure and whiff punishes are often stronger than risky offense.

• Pick one main character first; the cast plays very differently from one another.
• Practice anti-air timing to stop jump-heavy opponents early.
