The game uses a side-scrolling perspective with single-player or two-player cooperative action. Players run, jump, attack, and dodge hazards while collecting power-ups and temporary weapons. Stages mix platforming, enemy waves, rideable dinosaurs, and boss fights. Progress is linear, with each cleared stage leading into increasingly difficult areas and enemy patterns.

Joe

One of the two main cavemen, an aggressive fighter who rushes into danger.

Mac

Joe's partner, a sturdy caveman who helps rescue their kidnapped tribeswomen.

Learn enemy patterns and avoid rushing into traps. Keep upgraded weapons whenever possible, since they make crowd control much easier. In boss battles, watch for opening animations and attack during recovery windows. In co-op play, stay aware of your partner's position so you do not block each other on tight platforms.
