Vandal Hearts II

Battles are played on grid-based maps from an overhead tactical view. Players command units to move, attack, cast spells, and use items while paying attention to turn order, terrain height, attack range, and class roles. Characters gain experience through combat and develop over time, unlocking new capabilities as the story advances. Progress is structured around story chapters, with battles separated by dialogue scenes and party management.

The other central mercenary figure, whose path and loyalties become increasingly complicated.

Build a balanced team with melee, ranged, and healing support. Use high ground and choke points to control the battlefield and improve damage output. Focus early growth on mobility and recovery options, then add stronger area attacks and control skills later. Against tougher enemies, clear weaker units first and concentrate attacks on key targets to avoid being surrounded.
