Civilization II

The game uses an overhead map and turn-based structure. Each turn, players manage workers, military units, and cities. Exploration, road building, and terrain improvements increase output, while cities produce units, structures, and wonders. The technology tree unlocks new military, economic, and government options, and diplomacy, trade, and warfare shape the course of expansion. Victory can be pursued through conquest, scientific progress, diplomacy, or other strategic paths. On PS, menu-driven controller input replaces mouse-heavy PC controls.

In the early game, prioritize workers and improvements that boost food and production so your first cities grow quickly. Keep a focused technology path instead of researching too many branches at once. Connect cities with roads to improve trade and make defense easier, and watch happiness carefully to avoid unrest. When fighting wars, concentrate force on capturing cities rather than spreading units thin.
