If you want higher scores, do not focus only on fast line clears; leave room to build Square formations whenever possible. Keep the field flat in the early game and avoid unnecessary holes, since messy stacking makes square construction much harder. Save long I pieces for emergencies or Tetrises, and in multiplayer, adjust your risk level depending on whether you are leading or trying to catch up.
