The game uses a top-down real-time strategy perspective. You control up to four agents at once, moving them through urban maps to scout, fight, and complete objectives. Each agent can be equipped with weapons, armor, cybernetic implants, and special tools, while money earned from missions is used to upgrade their effectiveness. Missions involve assassinations, escorts, sabotage, and territory control, and you must also manage public unrest and security responses as the syndicate grows.

Agent Squad

The player-controlled four-person team that carries out infiltration, combat, and takeover missions.

Upgrade movement speed, accuracy, and persuasion weapons early, since they make missions much easier. Try to eliminate guards and surveillance units first before focusing on structures or primary targets. Keep an eye on city alert levels and retreat to recover when needed. Spend money carefully instead of over-investing in a single agent too early.

Tips

Use persuasion weapons early to turn enemy units against their allies and conserve ammunition.

Tips

Spread your agents out so explosions and heavy fire cannot wipe out the whole squad.

Tips

Check weapon range and armor before a mission; fitting the map matters more than raw damage alone.

User Reviews

The atmosphere, music, and setting are incredibly distinctive, making it a true strategy classic.

User Reviews

It is demanding and often unforgiving, but clearing a mission feels very rewarding.

User Reviews

The SNES version keeps the core appeal and still conveys the series' bleak future tone.
