Strider

The game uses side-scrolling stages focused on movement, jumping, climbing, and airborne slashes. Hiryu can cling to walls and ceilings, which is central to navigating terrain and attacking from unusual angles. The Cypher blade is the main weapon, delivering quick melee strikes and combos. Several stages feature moving hazards, set-piece encounters, and boss battles that demand timing, route choice, and careful enemy reading.

A major antagonist who leads the enemy force and stands in Hiryu's way.

Learn to chain wall clings, jumps, and slashes smoothly, since mobility is often safer than standing and trading hits. Use the Cypher's speed to interrupt weaker enemies before they crowd you. In boss fights, watch attack patterns first and avoid overcommitting. Some sections reward patience more than speed, especially when platforms and hazards overlap.
