The game uses a side-scrolling view with linear stages that mix walking, jumping, attacking, and avoiding traps. Rick can punch, kick, and use picked-up melee weapons against zombies, monsters, and bosses. Progress is stage-based and heavily dependent on spacing, timing, and surviving crowded encounters in tight corridors and hazard-filled rooms.
