Shining Force III

The game uses a turn-based tactical system on an isometric battlefield. Players move units across grid maps, attack, cast spells, use items, and manage positioning and turn order. Terrain height, movement range, and class roles all matter in battle. Outside combat, towns and story hubs are used for shopping, party management, dialogue, and scenario progression, with certain decisions affecting branching story events.

Build a balanced team with sturdy frontliners and reliable healers for long battles. Use elevation and narrow paths to funnel enemies and avoid being surrounded. Focus on enemy spellcasters and ranged threats early, as they can cause heavy damage from safety. Against bosses, weaken support units first and then concentrate damage on the main target.

Tips and tricks

• Keep healers and support units behind the main line, but close enough to act when needed.
• Promote and train characters according to their natural roles instead of forcing every unit into the same build.
• Save rare consumables for difficult chapters rather than spending them in routine encounters.
