Golden Axe II

This is a side-scrolling beat 'em up where you pick one of three characters and fight through multi-stage levels filled with soldiers, beasts, and bosses. The controls focus on standard attacks, jump attacks, downward strikes, grabs, and running attacks that help break enemy formations. Magic remains a major weapon but consumes limited power, so timing matters. Some stages include rideable creatures and bonus opportunities, and performance is judged at the end of each run.

Use running attacks to interrupt groups before they surround you. Save magic for crowded fights or emergencies instead of spending it immediately. Jump attacks are useful against grab-heavy enemies, and pushing foes toward the screen edge makes them easier to control. In mounted sections, prioritize charge attacks and area hits to clear the stage quickly.
