Final Fantasy II

In the early game, avoid training every weapon type evenly; specializing core fighters in one or two weapons gives steadier damage growth. Magic users benefit from focusing on a smaller set of frequently used spells. In each new town, upgrade equipment first and speak with NPCs to gather key terms. Against tougher enemies, defense, healing, and status magic are often safer than constant offense. Bring plenty of recovery items for dungeons, and make good use of temporary party members before they leave.
