Castlevania Chronicles

The game is a side-scrolling action platformer built around moving through stage-based levels, defeating enemies with the Vampire Killer whip, and collecting sub-weapons that consume hearts. Simon can use items like the axe, holy water, and cross to handle different enemy patterns and platform layouts. Players advance from stage to stage, facing a boss at the end of most areas. Chronicles includes the original mode and an Arrange Mode with altered balance, remixed presentation, and revised stage flow.

Learn enemy placement and jump timing before rushing forward, since knockback and pits are often more dangerous than direct damage. Choose sub-weapons based on the stage: axes help against aerial threats, holy water is strong for controlling space, and the cross is useful for straight-line pressure. Keep distance with the whip’s tip whenever possible, and save hearts for sections where a sub-weapon can safely clear trouble or secure a boss phase.

Tips and tricks

• Arrange Mode is usually the easier entry point thanks to its rebalanced feel.
• Many stages reward patience more than speed, especially around moving platforms and pits.
• Try different sub-weapons on bosses; some fights become much easier with the right choice.
