Blue's Journey is a 1991 arcade side-scrolling action platformer developed by Alpha Denshi and published by SNK. Players control Blue, a tiny alien from Raguy, fighting to reclaim his homeworld from the invading Daruma Tribe. Known for its colorful presentation, size-changing mechanic, and mix of action, exploration, and shop-based upgrades, it remains one of the more distinctive early Neo Geo titles.

The game uses a side-scrolling perspective with themed stages filled with enemies, hazards, and hidden items. Blue can jump on foes, use weapons, collect coins, and buy equipment or recovery items in shops between and within stages. Its defining mechanic lets Blue grow larger or shrink smaller: larger size improves attack power and reach, while smaller size helps with movement and fitting through tight spaces. Progress depends on careful platforming, route exploration, item management, and boss fights.

Blue

A small alien hero from the planet Raguy who sets out to save his world.

Daruma Tribe

The invading enemy force occupying Raguy, made up of various soldiers and bosses.

Learn when to change size instead of treating it as a simple power boost. Stay small for precise platforming and narrow passages, and grow larger when you need stronger attacks against dense enemies or bosses. Save coins for healing and reliable weapons rather than spending them immediately. Search upper platforms and suspicious gaps for hidden rewards, and approach bosses patiently by learning their patterns before committing to attacks.
