Tiger-Heli is a vertically scrolling shooter developed by Tose and published by Taito. Players pilot an armed helicopter through enemy territory, fighting tanks, jets, and hostile copters while advancing through tightly packed stages. Known for its straightforward power-up system, POW rescues, and fast arcade pacing, the game became one of the more recognizable helicopter shooters of the 1980s and retained that identity on NES.

The game uses a top-down vertical scrolling view. The helicopter moves horizontally while the screen continuously advances upward, and the player fires at both aerial and ground targets. Power-ups improve offensive capability, often changing the spread or strength of the weapon. Stages mix fixed gun emplacements, armored vehicles, enemy aircraft, and larger bosses or set-piece threats. Rescuing POWs hidden in the map can yield points or bonuses, and each stage ends with a demanding confrontation that tests positioning and pattern reading.

Destroy ground turrets early so you are not trapped between air and surface fire. Grab weapon upgrades as soon as it is safe, since stronger firepower makes later waves much easier to control. Stay toward the lower-middle area of the screen to leave room for dodging, and plan movements ahead of enemy spawns rather than reacting at the last second. Clear nearby enemies before attempting POW rescues.
