Players swap adjacent blocks to align three or more of the same color in a row, clearing them from the field. New blocks rise from the bottom over time, and losing occurs if the stack reaches the top. The key mechanic is chaining: when cleared blocks cause others above to fall into a new match, additional attacks are created. Single-player modes usually include a puzzle-like progression and timed challenges, while versus play emphasizes board control, setup creation, and timely disruption of the opponent.

Strategy
Build a stable board first, then look for chain starters in the lower half of the field. Avoid making the surface too jagged, since that makes future setups harder and increases the risk of topping out. In versus play, a well-timed short chain can interrupt the opponent, but larger chains are more reliable for turning the match around. Keep at least one flexible column or color arrangement available for emergency clears.
