On defense, you select coverage, blitzes, or zone schemes to counter the opponent. Season and league modes track stats, injuries, roster changes, and long-term progress across games.

Mix short passes with outside runs to keep drives alive instead of forcing deep throws every possession. On defense, switch between man coverage and blitzes depending on the opponent’s tendencies, and use zone coverage to protect against big plays. In season play, rotate starters to reduce fatigue and injuries, and rely on safer plays in short-yardage or red-zone situations.
