The game uses the standard top-down Pokémon formula: explore towns, routes, and wild areas; battle trainers in turn-based encounters; catch and train Pokémon; and advance through story-driven progression. Team building, type matchups, leveling, move selection, and item management remain central. As a hack of Emerald, it follows the classic GBA presentation while introducing its own changes, events, and balance tweaks.
