Metal Max Returns

The game uses a top-down view for exploration and turn-based combat. Players can travel on foot through towns, ruins, and wilderness, or drive tanks to fight enemies in the open world. Tanks are highly customizable, with interchangeable main guns, sub weapons, engines, armor, and support parts. Progress is largely nonlinear, with many main and side objectives available in flexible order, while bounty hunting and equipment upgrades drive advancement.

Invest early in money and tank parts, especially engines and armor, to improve mobility and survivability. Keep repair items and ammo stocked before entering dangerous zones. Since some areas require dismounting, balance upgrades between tanks and on-foot characters instead of focusing on only one side.
