The game presents matches in a simplified top-down football format. On offense, players choose plays for passing, running, and formation changes; on defense, they switch between coverage and blitz options. Available modes include regular season, playoffs, exhibition, and Create-a-Player. Created players can be traded during a season, adding roster management to the progression loop. Link play also allows two players to face off head-to-head.

Strategy
Use short passes and outside runs to move the chains safely before calling riskier plays. In season mode, build around your custom player and add depth to positions you control most often. On defense, adjust coverage based on the opponent’s tendencies; deeper coverage is safer against passing-heavy teams. In head-to-head play, avoid repeating the same play too often or you’ll become predictable.
